Please note that I am unable to confirm your design start date without payment.
Measurements
I will need a sketch of your room that is annotated with the measurements and any obstacles.
I will need to know the height of your ceiling at its lowest point.
Please click to download my guide to measuring your room.
Design
I will begin by laying out your room before adding in the elements required to meet your brief. By the end of the same day, unless your project is particularly complex, I will provide you with a series of layout options for you to consider.
Please let me know which of the layouts is your favourite and if there are any elements from the other designs you would like to incorporate. I will take your chosen design forward through a series of drafts to achieve your dream design.
There is no deadline from me for us to work through the drafts, but please let me know your timescales for your project so I can plan my time and prioritise projects accordingly.
I allow 5 drafts for a kitchen, 3 for a utility and 2 for a bathroom. The earlier in the process you know which door style and colour you want the better as not all units are available in all ranges.
Not ready to order your kitchen yet? That’s no problem, we can get as far as a kitchen you love the look of then come back to it for a final draft right before you are ready to order.
Ordering
Before finalising your design to order, I will require the details and measurements of any appliances you will be purchasing.
Ahead of placing your order, you must share the design with your kitchen fitter and request that they check the design is suitable for the room - ironing out any issues that may have gone unnoticed due to us working together remotely.
Using DIY Kitchens?
For kitchens supplied by DIY Kitchens, you will need to create a log in and share this with me.
You must not log in to this account while I am working on your draft and you must not make any changes to my drafts (you can, however, create a clone of the room and use that to explore your options).
Ready?
Thank you once again for choosing me as your independent designer.
I encourage you to share your thoughts and feedback at every stage, your input is invaluable in helping us create a space that truly reflects your personality.
I look forward to working with you and crafting a space you’ll love for years to come.
Warm regards,
Gracie Davies MSc
